Specialized mech towers: choosing your squad
Mech Tower Defense combines sci-fi tower placement with talents, equipment, and upgrades. Your squad includes different tower types. This guide explains the available choices and a practical way to compare them in a mission.
Meet the tower types
- Laser: sustained laser damage gives it a distinct beam-based combat identity.
- Frost: slowing effects help you control enemies as they travel through your defense.
- Cannon: slow-firing heavy attacks with splash damage. Consider it when several enemies travel close together.
- Sniper: long-range precision fire. Compare its firing opportunities with the route and available placements.
- Tesla: chain lightning attacks multiple targets. Its control role provides a different option from precision fire.
- Minigun: rapid-fire attacks offer a different firing rhythm from the cannon and sniper.
- Plasma: a high-damage energy weapon with a slower attack rate.
- Railgun: a long-range, high-damage weapon with a slow firing rhythm.
Read each tower's current in-game description and upgrade information before spending resources. Balance and abilities can change with updates.
Compare one change at a time
Replay a mission with a similar formation and replace one tower. Observe which enemies reach the exit, where your damage is concentrated, and whether slowing enemies gives the rest of your squad more time to attack. This provides a more useful comparison than simply selecting the rarest-looking card.
Talents, bonds, and equipment
Your tower choice is only part of a build. Talent choices during a run, Tower Bonds, upgrades, and equipment also affect your defense. Check the descriptions in the current game when planning a combination.
